Home-screen widgets
The best calendar is the one you don't have to open. KashCal has five home-screen widgets that keep your day in view. Add them the usual Android way: long-press your home screen, choose Widgets, and find KashCal.

Tap any event on a widget to open it in KashCal, and use the + button on the agenda, month, and upcoming widgets to add one.
The month widget follows two of your settings live: turn on Show week numbers or change Start week on, and it updates without a restart.
On Android 15 and newer, each widget previews as itself in the system widget picker, so the agenda shows a sample day, the month shows a grid, and so on. You can tell them apart before you place one.
Keeping widgets current
Widgets refresh when you add, change, or delete events, after a sync, and at the start of each new day, so they stay accurate without you doing anything.
Colors and theme, together or apart
By default your widgets wear whatever the app wears. But a calendar on your wall can read differently from the one in your hand, so the widgets also have a look of their own. Both live in the account hub, under Make it yours:
- Widget theme: leave it on Follow app and each widget tracks the app's light or dark face; pin it to Light or Dark and it holds that face on your home screen no matter what the app or your phone is doing.
- Widget accent: leave it on Follow app to match the app's accent, choose Automatic to follow your Material You wallpaper colors on Android 12 and newer, or pick one of the 92 colors for the widgets alone. Every widget recolors to match, add button and all.
Two lines, or one
By default a list widget fits each event on a single line: a color, a start time, and the title. When you also want to see when things end, turn on Detailed widget rows in Settings, under Appearance. Each event grows to two lines, the title on top and its full start-to-end time below, so the shape of your day reads from the home screen. The time follows your in-app 12- or 24-hour setting. This applies to the agenda, week, and upcoming widgets; leave it off and rows stay compact.
How many events show
For the agenda-style widgets you can set a Widget event limit in Settings, under Appearance, to control how many events appear per day. The default is 5.
