Search
Search finds events by their words when you can't remember the date. Tap the search icon in the top bar, or long-press the KashCal app icon and choose Search.
What it searches
Search looks through event titles, locations, and notes. Results appear as you type, from the second character on, sorted by date.
- Each word you type matches the start of a longer word. "dent" finds "Dentist".
- More words narrow the results. Every word has to appear in the event.
- Put words in quotes to find them together, in that order: "team meeting" finds "Team meeting" but not "Meeting with the team".
In device calendars, Android runs the search. It also matches guest names and email addresses, and a word can match anywhere inside a longer word. Quotes don't group words there.
Search covers the calendars that are visible in the navigation drawer, including device calendars. A calendar you've hidden in the drawer isn't searched. If nothing matches, you see "No events found".
Filter by date
When you open search, no filter chip is selected and search shows upcoming events only. An event counts as upcoming while any of its occurrences hasn't ended. To find past events, tap All.
The chips:
- All: past and upcoming events.
- Week: events in this week, from your first day of the week.
- Month: events in this calendar month.
- Date: pick a day or a range. Tap a day, then tap it again for that day alone, or tap another day for the range between them. The chip then shows the day or range you picked.
Closing search clears the query and the filter. The next search starts with upcoming events again.
