Contact birthdays & anniversaries
The birthdays and anniversaries you've saved in your contacts can show up right on your calendar, so you get a nudge before the day arrives and never miss one.
Turn it on
Open Settings and tap Birthdays & anniversaries, under Calendars & accounts. Inside are two switches:
- Contact Birthdays: Show birthdays from your phone contacts as all-day calendar events.
- Contact Anniversaries: Show anniversaries from your phone contacts as all-day calendar events.
Both need Contacts permission, since KashCal reads the dates from your device contacts:
Reads from your device contacts. Requires Contacts permission.
What you get
- Birthdays and anniversaries appear as yearly, all-day events that repeat every year.
- They live in their own Birthdays and Anniversaries calendars, shown under the Contacts section of the navigation drawer.
- Event titles read naturally, like "Sam's Birthday", and include the age or number of years when the contact's year is known.
Color and reminders
Each of the two sections has its own calendar color and its own reminder (Birthday Reminder and Anniversary Reminder), so you can give birthdays a different lead time from anniversaries. Both sit on the same screen as the switches.
These calendars are read from your contacts and are shown read-only in KashCal. To change a birthday, edit the contact.
